I think Stree 2 is a very smart sequel. It doesn’t just rely on scares, but uses horror to talk about real societal issues (like patriarchy).
The humor helps to balance what could otherwise be a very dark or scary film, which makes it more accessible.
While the visual effects and monster design are a bit “larger-than-life,” they suit the scale of this story — it’s more myth than folk tale now.
For someone who liked the first Stree, this is definitely worth watching — but if you’re expecting a very scary horror, it might feel lighter on horror.
The financial success is impressive: making such a big return shows audiences loved it.
